Saturday at Indy for the morning practice and afternoon Michael Schumacher in the Ferrari F-2000 was on pole with a time of 1:14.266. Mika Mika Häkkinen was leading in the points over Michael Schumacher 80 to 78. Ferrari hadn't seen a driver champion since 1979 and with Michael's previous win at the Italian GP 2 weeks earlier things were looking good for Ferrari.
